Early polls stalled growth, says BJP

Mr Gowda said the Centre had granted Rs 5,200 crore just for reviving one project, Ramagundam Fertilisers

Hyderabad: Alleging that development in Telangana state had taken a backseat as caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had prematurely dissolved the Assembly, Union minister Sadananda Gowda said that people would teach the TRS a lesson.

He said Prime Minister Narender Modi was on the development mode and had released funds to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh crore to the state. But minister K.T. Rama Rao was projecting the schemes funded by this money as the TRS government’s own, without giving due credit to the Centre.

Mr Gowda said the Centre had granted Rs 5,200 crore just for reviving one project, Ramagundam Fertilisers”

Addressing a meeting at Kalwakurthi in Mahbub-nagar district after participating in the BJP Yuva Morcha rally, Mr Gowda said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had sensed imminent defeat if simultaneous polls were held for the Lok Sabha and the Assembly. “That is why he advanced the polls,” the Union minister claimed.

He said the planned expenditure for the rest of the period in the 2018-19 financial year had become nullified because Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had dissolved the Assembly.
