CPM alleges BJP bid to tarnish Kerala government image

The CPM district leadership alleged that a series of incidents had taken place in Payyannur ahead of Dhanarajan's murder.

Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has accused the RSS-BJP of unleashing series of violence across the state with the objective of painting Kerala as a state with serious law and order problems.

The party believes that the RSS tactics is to first create trouble, violence and then conduct a campaign at the national level to tarnish the image of CPM led government in Kerala. According to CPM leaders, the violence unleashed by the RSS was part of the plan devised at the Chintan Baithak presided over by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat some time ago. “At the meeting presided over by Bhagwat, the RSS had planned to unleash violence in CPM strong holds in Kannur to weaken the party," said P Jayarajan, CPM district secretary.

The CPM district leadership alleged that a series of incidents had taken place in Payyannur ahead of Dhanarajan’s murder. On May 23, the RSS had carried out a attack in the area. Even the day before the murder, RSS activists had taken out a procession raising murder cries against CPM local secretary T A Madhusoodhan.

CPM has also accused home minister Ramesh Chennithala of trying to bail out the RSS which unleashed murderous attacks in Kannur soon after the elections. "Chennithala is hand in glove with the RSS. By blaming the CPM leadership, Chennithala is actually trying to shield the RSS violence," Jayarajan said.

The CPM pointed out that Dhanarajan’s murder was carried out at a time when peace prevailed in Payyannur. This clearly indicated that the murder was well planned and without any provocation.
