Tamil Nadu to get two deputy CMs if PMK voted to power

PMK leader alleged that both the AIADMK and DMK are competing with each other to distribute money to the voters.

Chennai: PMK founder Dr S. Ramadoss on Friday announced that if his party was voted to power, two deputy chief ministers — a woman and a representative from Southern district — would be appointed.

Addressing a press conference here, Dr Ramadoss said that as part of bringing in an administrative reform, the PMK, if voted to power, would have two deputy CM's in the government led by Dr Anbumani Ramadoss. “One deputy CM will be from the south and the other will be a woman,” he said, adding that to avoid other parties from copying their administrative reform, he chose to make the announcement at the fag end of the election campaign with just two days before the state would be going for the polls.

Dr Ramadoss said that all his party candidates including Anbumani would take a pledge on Saturday assuring that none of them would give money for votes and that they would fulfil their poll commitments failing which, they would resign from power. He accused the media of imposing its views on the guise of opinion polls by predicting that either AIADMK or DMK would come to power. “When the results is declared on May 19, you will come to know the actual position. Anbumani will certainly become a CM,” he said.

PMK leader alleged that both the AIADMK and DMK are competing with each other to distribute money to the voters. “AIADMK is distributing Rs 1,000 per voter. Both the AIADMK and DMK are distributing money to voters in my native Tindivanam. Even the election officials are acting in support of them,” he said.
