Bengaluru: Former Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar has asserted that he is not an aspirant for a minister's post as is being speculated in view of the impending Cabinet reshuffle.
‘I did not have community backing to stake claim to the post. It will be a miracle if the party chooses me for a ministerial berth", said the senior Congress leader. Talking to Deccan Chronicle, he said no wise chief minister would like to have him in the Cabinet as he has a different temperament and cannot tolerate wrongdoing.
“I did not have either community or monetary support to lobby for my induction into the ministry. I am happy that my name appears on top whenever the party talks of a Cabinet reshuffle or expansion and disappears subsequently. But I will remain loyal to the party and will always be with CM Siddaramaiah in all development works.” The Srinivaspura MLA felt his inclusion or non-inclusion in the council of ministers would not have any political impact. He has been a strong critic of the state government and has been quick to speak up whenever serious lapses happen. He along with current Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa have not spared ministers in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet for their non-performance.
