Telangana govt needs to act quickly: Bandaru Dattatreya

He said the SCR would start a train between Karimnagar and Mumbai soon.

Hyderabad: Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya said there was an urgent need to increase the pace of development works in the state. After a review meeting with officials, he said the Centre had been extending financial help through the PM Awas Yojana for the double bedroom housing scheme and the state government must complete this major project on schedule.

Mr Dattatreya said the Centre had sanctioned 70,674 in rural areas with Rs 508 crore and 80,481 in urban areas with Rs 1,207 crore. The GHMC had got 32,091 houses. Of all this, the state had called tenders for 1.39 lakh houses, finalised 85,000 houses and started work on 40,000 houses. He said the SCR would start a train between Karimnagar and Mumbai soon.
