It is a reflection on the culture of RSS and its affiliates: Pinarayi Vijayan

The police failed to act because Sangh Parivar activists were involved, he added.

Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has flayed the Sangh Parivar for preventing him from attending a scheduled public function on Saturday in Bhopal , the capital of the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, saying “it is a reflection on the culture of RSS and its affiliates.” He told reporters in Kochi on Sunday that the action of Sangh Parivar could not be condoned at any cost.

“These are issues that cannot be ended on the basis of the state government tendering an apology,” he added. Such incidents should not happen in any state, he said and added that not a single BJP leader has faced any problem in Kerala. “Home Minister Rajnath Singh who had visited Kannur at the height of the political tension moved around freely. The police provided full security cover,” he added.

The BJP leaders also moved without any problem in Kozhikode when they came for the national meeting. Mr Vijayan had informed the MP government and the police in advance about his schedule in Bhopal. The police failed to act because Sangh Parivar activists were involved, he added.

Mr Vijayan was forced to cancel the public meeting on the advice of the local police there as a group of Sangh activists had threatened to block him in protest against the alleged atrocities by the CPM against BJP workers in Kerala.
