C Adinarayana Reddy quits TD, likely to join BJP

Kadapa: Former minister and senior leader C. Adinarayana Reddy resigned from his post in Telugu Desam on Wednesday.

Mr Reddy is likely to join the BJP in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.

Being Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s home town, the BJP is concentrating to get a stronghold in Kadapa. The top leaders, especially BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana, is frequently touring in Kadapa district welcoming leaders from other parties to join BJP.

Three-time MLA and former minister Adinarayana Reddy joining the BJP will strengthen the party in the district.

Local leaders opine that Mr Reddy has a strong grip on the Assembly constituency and his district-wide involvement is an advantage for the BJP. Former deputy mayor Arifullah and some of TD leaders decided to join the BJP in the presence of Mr Lakshminarayana during his visit to Kadapa on September 14 and 15.
