As elections approach, the political parties and leaders are adopting novel ways to woo the electorate. The Election Commission has allotted the symbol of Glass Tumbler to Jana Sena.

The party cadre and leaders are buying up glass tumblers on a large scale and distributing them among the people, along with a photo of Power Star and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, and they are telling the voters that Glass Tumbler is their symbol and they should vote for it. Therefore, there has been suddenly a great demand for glass tumblers and a new business avenue has opened up to the sellers of glass tumblers.

The Jana Sena leaders said that there is nothing unethical about the practice and they are only giving the glass to the voters to popularise their symbol and the value of the glass tumbler which is so cheap but can’t be considered as an inducement to the voters. In any case, the election code has not come into effect and therefore, the Jana Sena leaders has intensified their campaign by distributing glass tumblers.

It is estimated that in East Godavari District itself, more than a lakh glass tumblers have been already distributed and in 13 districts, nearly more than a million glass tumblers may be distributed.
