Give foreign tour details in 2 days: M K Stalin

It only shows that his much publicised three-nation foreign tour to attract more FDI has been a terrible disappointment.

CHENNAI: Charging the Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami and his cabinet colleagues with splurging public money for their foreign tours under the pretext of “bringing in more foreign investments to Tamil Nadu,” the Opposition DMK leader M K Stalin on Tuesday dared Mr. Palaniswami to come out with all the details of his trip “in two days” and dispel people's doubts.

“If the CM releases all the basic facts on the investment scenario under the AIADMK regime, within a week the DMK is ready to organise a 'paaratu vizha (felicitation function) for him”, Stalin said in a hard-hitting statement, responding to certain remarks made by the CM on his arrival from abroad.

Recalling that his demand made in the Assembly for a 'White Paper' on the status of the MoUs' signed by the AIADMK regime during two Global Investors Meet (GIM) held in Chennai during the last three years, had still no reply from the Chief Minister, Mr. Stalin said for Mr. Palaniswami attributing his criticisms to “my political frustration and jealousy” was ludicrous. “It only shows that his much publicised three-nation foreign tour to attract more FDI has been a terrible disappointment and failure for all practical purposes despite the tall claims made on the agreements signed of new investments during his tour,” Stalin said.

Mr. Palaniswami's outbursts against him (Stalin) at the airport also showed that the purpose of the CM’s three-nation tour for nearly two weeks was more like a tourists' junket than any effort to attract investments to TN, Stalin said.
