No dissatisfaction in party after core panel reorganisation: BS Yeddyurappa
Bengaluru: State BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa ruled out any dissatisfaction within the party over reorganisation of the core committee and said everyone was committed to the decision taken by the party leadership.
Speaking to reporters after a function organised in connection with the felicitation to Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu here on Sunday, he said he had discussed with Delhi leaders the recent political developments in the state.
“The government has died in Karnataka. Farmers and police personnel are committing suicide. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has been briefed about the collapse of law and order machinery in the state, and he has promised to seek a report from the state,” he said.
The first information report has not been filed against Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George, who was named by DySP, Mangaluru, M.K. Ganapati before committing suicide.
The BJP will take up the issue in both Houses of the Legislature on Monday and also outside the House. The nature of agitation will be decided in consultation with state leaders. “In my view, the state government has died long ago,” he said.
Speaking at the function earlier, Mr Yeddyurappa hailed the contributions of Mr Naidu to the state and said he raised his voice on land, language and water issues of the state in the Rajya Sabha effectively. As in-charge of Karnataka, Mr Naidu toured the state and organised the party which helped it to come to power in Karnataka in 2008. “He has been guiding me like a brother and is acting as a source of inspiration,” he said.
Lok Sabha member P.C. Mohan said that Mr Naidu, who has been elected to the Rajya Sabha three consecutive times, was elected to upper house from Rajasthan this time. "He should have been elected from Karnataka," he said.
Mr Naidu thanked the people of Kanataka for reposing faith in him and sending him to the Rajya Sabha three times. He promised to continue to work for the welfare of the state and give priority to ongoing projects.
