Karnataka BJP to Governor: Ask CM to speed up relief work

The saffron party demanded that the state government waive farm loans completely, provide fertilizer and seeds free of cost.

Bengaluru: A delegation of state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by unit president B.S. Yeddyurappa met Governor Vajubhai Vala here on Tuesday and requested him to direct the state government to take up drought relief work on a war footing.

In a four-page memorandum submitted to the Governor here on Tuesday, the BJP delegation complained that the Congress government in state is engaging in partisan politics by turning down the assistance offered by the Union government to help it tide over the power crisis.

“The Chief Minister has not bothered to monitor drought relief work. The insensitivity of the Chief Minister has been established by the fact that he hasn’t reprimanded his Cabinet colleagues for making irresponsible statements," the Bharatiya Janata Party stated in the memorandum.

The saffron party demanded that the state government waive farm loans completely, provide fertilizer and seeds free of cost and ensure the employment guarantee scheme is implemented in a comprehensive manner.
