Oppn to raise loan waiver, sugarcane growers' woes

The BJP has reportedly issued directions to all its 104 MLAs to attend the session without fail to embarrass the Kumaraswamy government.

Delay in waiver of crop loans borrowed from nationalised banks, the failure to take up drought relief work in several taluks, failure to address problems of sugarcane growers and lack of development works are some of the issues which will be raised by the opposition BJP during the Belagavi session. Already, several BJP teams have visited drought-prone taluks to take stock of the situation and have submitted a report to opposition leader B.S. Yeddyurappa who is likely to lead a frontal attack on the government.

The BJP has reportedly issued directions to all its 104 MLAs to attend the session without fail to embarrass the Kumaraswamy government. Water Resources Minister D.K. Shivakumar is likely to stand solidly behind Mr Kumaraswamy while countering the opposition attack.

One of the major problems being faced by the coalition government is the lack of co-ordination among Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) members in both Houses. Congress members have been lacking when it comes to defending the government headed by a Janata Dal (Secular) Chief Minister when it is under attack from the opposition.

With the Lok Sabha polls fast approaching, it will be interesting to watch all three political parties in action.
