BRS will fail nationally, says Jagga

Hyderabad: Reacting to the decision of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to formally launch the BRS following the Election Commission's nod, Sangareddy Congress legislator T. Jagga Reddy said that even this would be an 'unsuccessful attempt' and meet a fate similar to that of other regional parties like the TD, which had gone national earlier.

Speaking to media persons after meeting AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi, Reddy said that none of the regional parties could hold on at the national level.

"Mamata Banerjee, N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mulayam Singh Yadav, among others, tried to go national but achieved nothing substantial," he said.

On the meeting with Kharge, he emphasised that the meeting was about countering the TRS and the BJP onslaught against the Congress and the way they were playing politics to stay in limelight. "Since I have decided to avoid speaking on internal matters, I focused on discussing a plan of action to counter the TRS and BJP to stay relevant in Telangana," he added.
