CPI daily trains guns on CPM

The article also lashed out at education minister C. Raveenedranath.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI mouthpiece Janayugam has hit out at chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan's stand on Law Academy Law Collge issue. The hard hitting article in the weekly satire column questioned the stand of the chief minister that the land allotted by C P Ramaswamy Iyer cannot be taken back by the government. If the CP's highhandedness is justified then will they brand the valiant fighters of Punnapra Vayalar as criminals? The article also lashed out at education minister C. Raveenedranath.

The minister who is responsible for finding a solution to the ongoing strike of students at Law Academy Law College had turned into a megaphone of the SFI which had back stabbed the agitation by entering into a unilateral agreement with the management. The CPI mouthpiece also attacked CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan who had cautioned against falling in BJP's trap. Does he mean that that one should fall in the trap laid down by the CPM ? the article asked.

The article lamented that those who were dancing to the tunes of a feudal and his family will find a place in the dustbin of history if they fail to rectify their mistakes. The CPI sought to know whether how the land which was given to a Trust in which the government also had representation, went into the hands of a private family. The chief minister owed an answer to the public.

E.P. Jayarajan hits out against CPI

CPI has become a pawn in the hands of those who are hell-bent on weakening the Left front, said CPM central committee member E.P. Jayarajan. Reacting to the article in the CPI mouth piece 'Janayugam', which ridiculed Chief Minister’s stand that an inquiry could not be conducted into the land given to Kerala Law Academy in 1968, Mr Jayarajan told media here on Monday that the standard of the newspaper has gone down considerably and CPI needs to keep in mind the joint responsibility of the Left front.

"As a party, which is a part of LDF, CPI should not have stooped so low. It is not a strong party and works in the shadow of CPM. The central leadership of CPI needs to look into such irresponsible deeds of some of its partymen in Kerala. In matters regarding the LDF, CPI is bound to keep a certain amount of decency," he said.
