Thiruvananthapuram: Former KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran says SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan, who undervalued his own position, had become a laughing stock. On Friday, Vellapally attacked Sudheeran, resurrecting their age-old feuds.
Sudheeran in his Facebook said that SNDP Yogam was a committed organisation founded by social reformer Sree Narayana Guru which was beyond caste and religion. But unfortunately Vellapally had shown disrespect to Guru’s ideals and philosophies by coming out with invective. Sudheeran recalled an earlier incident where Vellapally badmouthed Naushad, the autorickshaw driver who lost his life in Kozhikode, when he tried to help trapped migrant labourers in the manhole.
“Sadly Vellapally took a dig against the then UDF Government’s gesture to help Naushad’s family. Naushad was considered as a great human being who went out of the way to help migrant labourers. But Vellapally tried to communalise the situation for which he received flak from various quarters”, said Sudheeran in his Facebook post.
Sudheeran also claimed that under no circumstances would he try to succumb to the pressures triggered by Vellapally or anyone. He maintained that his stand would be the same.
Earlier on Friday, Vellapally allegedly used a form of abuse in Malayalam while referring to Sudheeran during the inauguration of the new building of Paravur Kunjithai SN LP School. Vellapally claimed that Sudheeran had even written to the then Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala demanding his arrest. Interestingly, Vellappally made the remarks in the presence of KPCC vice president and Paravur MLA V. D. Satheesan.
“If it was Sukumaran Nair (NSS general secretary), then I wonder whether Sudheeran would have made such a request to the Home Minister. Sudheeran was even kicked out from the NSS headquarters at Perunna. But he kept mum even then”, alleged Vellapally.
