TMC men obstruct TRS leader

TMC members Kalyan Benerjee and Ranjitha, argued with Mr Reddy to stop his speech and cooperate with the Opposition.

Hyderabad: There was an uproar in the Lok Sabha on Monday after Congress and Trinamool Congress members rushed towards TRS floor leader A.P. Jithender Reddy and tried to snatch his mike to prevent him from initiating the debate on problems faced by people due to demonetisation.

Mr Reddy gave notice to the Lok Sabha Speaker under Rule 193 for a debate on demonetisation following which the Speaker allowed him to speak.

As soon as Mr Reddy began his speech, the Opp-osition members rushed towards him, engaged in heated arguments and obstructed him.

Mr Reddy, however, continued his speech even as the Opposition members raised slogans.

TMC members Kalyan Benerjee and Ranjitha, argued with Mr Reddy to stop his speech and cooperate with the Opposition.

Though Speaker Sumitra Mahajan pleaded with agitating members to resume their seats, the unrelenting members continued to obstruct Mr Reddy.

Mr Reddy said, “All the parties are welcoming the decision taken by PM on demonetisation to curb black money. But there are loopholes in its implementation due to which people are suffering. The Opposi-tion wants to make certain suggestions to government to resolve these issues. This can be possible only if the debate goes on.”
