YSRC MLA booked for harassment

Srikanth Reddy once again called her stating that legislator Sridhar Reddy would speak to her.

Nellore: The Nellore Rural police has booked a case against Nellore Rural YSR Congress legislator, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, and his close follower and YSRC spokes-person, B. Sreekanth Reddy, for allegedly harassing mandal parishad development officer (MPDO), A. Sarala, working at Venkatachalam mandal in Nellore district on Saturday.

The duo reportedly disconnected the power, water and television connections to her house in Kallurpalli housing colony near Nellore on Friday night.

In her complaint to the police, the MPDO alleged that Mr Srikanth Reddy had called her over the phone and sought water connections to a layout, GPR Green Avenue, at Anik-epalli in Venkatachalam mandal a few days back. She told him that the administration would take up the work after enquiry but sought time as she was busy arranging village secretariats.

Mr Srikanth Reddy once again called her stating that legislator Sridhar Reddy would speak to her. She alleged that the MLA threatened to see her end if she failed to provide a water connection to the layout within two days.

Ms Sarala said the MLA and Mr Srikanth Reddy came to her house late on Friday night. “They disconnected power before coming. The MLA abused my mother in foul language. He told her that we would not get power, water and cable connection till his work is done. They have also placed a garbage bin before my house, she alleged.
