Rajahmundry: Telugu Desam party drew flak when a section of its leaders allegedly consumed liquor and danced to the tunes while taking part in 'Intintiki Telugu Desam' programme held at Mallavaram Lanka at Narasapuram mandal in West Godavari.
Several mandal parishad presidents, zilla parishad territorical constituency members and mandal parishad territorial constituency members and others leaders belonged to Telugu Desam took part in the party programme a few days ago at Mallavaram Lanka village and reportedly consumed liquor and danced bringing disrepute to the party.
TD MLA from Narasapuram Bandaru Madhava Naidu denied the allegations and said, “Our TD leaders have successfully completed ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam’ programme in the Mallavaram Lanka village by visiting all houses. While returning from the village, some leaders danced while playing TD songs as it was being played in the public address system out of joy that they had completed the programme by covering all houses.”
He said that people having malaise intention were trying to tarnish the image of our leaders and the party. Mr Naidu said that he was in Eluru at that time.
