Congress gearing up to regain past glory in Karimnagar, Warangal districts

WARANGAL: With speculations that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to go in for early assembly elections, Congress leaders have started organising various programmes in erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts to regain the past glory of the party.

They have started organising Hath Se Hath Jodo to bring people under the Congress umbrella, apart from dharnas and protest programmes against the failures of state and central governments on various issues including unemployment and difficulties being faced by farmers.

Congress party’s Mulugu MLA Seethakka, who had actively participated in Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi right from Kanyakumari till the yatra entered Maharashtra state, is making elaborate arrangements to ensure the success of the Hath Se Hath Jodo programme of TPCC president Revanth Reddy, which is going to start from Medaram in Mulugu district from Monday. Seethakka is mobilising large numbers of Congress party activists from surrounding villages for the programme.

The focus of Congress leaders will be to enthuse party cadres and take up local issues in their respective constituencies and reach all sections of people through the Hath Se Hath Jodo programme.

In erstwhile Karimnagar district, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has taken out a padayatra in Vemulawada, Sircilla, Choppadandi, Karimnagar, Manakondur, Huzurabad and Husnabad constituencies, targeting BJP at the centre and TRS in the state.
Former minister and MLC T. Jeevan Reddy is focussing on three assembly segments Jagtial, Korutla and Dharmapuri in Jagtial highlighting failures of the state government.

In Manthani assembly segment, former minister and MLA D. Sridhar Babu is coordinating with Congress leaders Makkan Singh Tagore of Ramagundam and former MLA Ch. Vijaya Ramana Rao of Peddapalli constituencies to rejuvenate the party in the coal region.

In the erstwhile Warangal district, senior Congress leader and former PCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah is holding several meetings with the party cadre and is actively taking part in various programmes in the Jangaon district.
Former minister Konda Sureka and MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao, who had been inactive for some time, have started focusing on the Warangal East constituency.

Hanamkonda district president and party senior leader Naini Rajendar Reddy, Bhupalpally assembly segment in-charge Gandra Satyanarayana, Enagala Venkat Reddy in Parkal, Donthi Madhava Reddy in Narsampet, former MLA Kommuri Pratap Reddy in Jangaon and Janga Raghava Reddy from Palakurthy are trying to inject new energy into the party. They are reaching various segments of people in their respective constituencies to bring past glory to the Congress party in the erstwhile Warangal district.
