YSRC trying to stall welfare: TD

He wondered how Laxma Reddy could get so much money to hire top lawyers in the nation’s capital.

Vijayawada: TD MLC Y.V.B. Rajendra Prasad accused the YSR Congress of using Jana Chaitanya Vedika, a forum floated by the party, to file petitions to stop welfare programmes being implemented by the Telugu Desam in the state.

He was addressing the media at the Praja Vedika in Undavalli on Thursday, He said that YSRC leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was resorting to cheap tricks in changing the mind of the voters, as he is fearing that the pro-TD wave in the state would vanquish his party in the elections.

The Pasupu-Kumkuma cash assistance scheme introduced for the women, Annadata Sukhibhava for farmers, increased pensions for different beneficiaries and other programmes will surely get the TD re-elected, Mr Prasad said.

The TD MLC said that Jana Chaitanya Vedika president Laxma Reddy had filed petitions in the Delhi High Court against TD welfare schemes.

He wondered how Laxma Reddy could get so much money to hire top lawyers in the nation’s capital.

He also alleged that Laxma Reddy camps at Jagan's Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad and that he acts on the directions of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He appealed to the voters to teach a befitting lesson to Jagan and his party MLAs for taking a hefty remuneration of `2 lakh per month even without attending the Assembly and raising people’s problems.
