Nani wants CBI to question Naidu for Viveka murder

VIJAYAWADA: Former minister and YSR Congress MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao alias Nani has demanded that CBI question TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Nani pointed out that Naidu had been the chief minister of AP at the time of the former MP’s killing. He said, “We want CBI to investigate what Naidu talked to police officials and Kadapa TD leaders on Vivekananda murder day. Naidu had remained CM for three months after the former MP’s killing. But no murderer had been found or charge-sheet filed. Hence, there are suspicions of Naidu’s role in the Viveka killing case. We demand CBI to probe calls between the then DGP A.B. Venkateswara Rao, the then Kadapa SP, Naidu, Nara Lokesh and other TD leaders of Kadapa district to unravel the truth.”

The MLA also recalled that NTR’s son Harikrishna had resigned from his ministry demanding a probe into his father NTR’s death. But the then CM Naidu did not respond to it. There had been no autopsy, as they feared it may disclose a conspiracy.

Nani underlined that he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union minister Amit Shah, Telangana CM KCR and AP CM Jagan seeking investigation into the suspicious death of NTR, so that the real culprits responsible for late chief minister’s death could be found.

Referring to Nandamuri Tarakaratna’s heart attack during Lokesh’s padayatra, the MLA pointed out that untoward incidents have taken place whenever heirs of NTR undertook any political activity in TD. He recalled that earlier, Junior NTR had campaigned for TD in 2009, but met with a ghastly accident. Now, Tarakaratna has fallen seriously ill after a massive heart attack. He demanded that Naidu seek a CBI probe into this incident.
