Congress plans fresh panels for Lok Sabha polls

The Congress is planning to set up an election management committee with five members which will coordinate with the AICC.

Hyderabad: As instructed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has started finalising the election committees for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress is planning to set up an election management committee with five members which will coordinate with the AICC, the TPCC and the district committees.

The other committees for Telangana will be the coordination committee, pradesh election committee, campaigning committee, publicity committee and media coordination committee.

The high command has asked the TPCC to complete the process by January 15.

Telangana state in-charge of Congress affairs R.C. Khuntia and TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy discussed these matters with party leaders from Adilabad, Peddapalli, Nizamabad, Zaheerabad and Warangal Lok Sabha constituencies on Friday.

They also discussed the reasons for the party’s defeat in the Assembly constituencies that come under these Lok Sabha constituencies in the recent elections.

The Congress will continue the meetings for the next three days with leaders from the remaining Lok Sabha constituencies too. The party has also decided to announce a new district committee for each state.
