BJP carrying out padayatra to deceive people, says Vinod Kumar

Warangal: The BJP leaders, who had described the formation of Telangana State as an act similar to killing the mother and separating her child, are carrying out a padayatra now to deceive the people, planning commission vice-chair B Vinod Kumar has said.

He was inaugurating a bike rally led by government chief whip and Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar to mark Diksha Divas, from municipal office to Telangana martyrs statue at Adalat in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

Later, speaking to the media, he came heavily against the BJP. No benefit came to Telangana from the Centre since the BJP runs the affairs there. State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other three BJP MPs never spoke about the bifurcation promises in Parliament. They did not even exert any pressure there to fulfill the promises the Centre had made to the Telangana state at the time of its formation,” he said.

“Now, they are taking out a padayatra only to malign the image of the TRS government,” he said.

Former chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy, who was the “prime enemy of Telangana region” and opposed the formation of Telangana state, created hurdles and tried to suppress the separate Telangana movement.”

“Now his daughter YS Sharmila is heading a political party in his name and working as per the directions of the BJP. The people of Telangana would ignore her,” he said.

Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao led the separate Telangana movement for 14 years. “When the government behaved stubbornly, he went on an indefinite hunger strike and finally achieved the separate statehood status goal for Telangana.”

“Marking the anniversary of the formation of a separate state, a series of programmes were taken up for 11 days from November 29 to December 9 in Hanamkonda in the name of Diksha Divas,” he said.

“If the BJP leaders have guts, they must do pada-yatra demanding a coach factory in Kazipet, establishment of tribal university in Mulugu and steel factory in Bayyaram," he said.
