Singareni Collieries Company Limited will set up Bayyaram: K Chandrasekhar Rao

The iron ore available in the state will be used for the factory.

Kothagudem / Warangal: Caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the Bayyaram steel factory — promised in the AP Reorganisation Act — would be built by Singareni Collieries Company Limited on its own.

He said that the state government had written to the Centre and the Union steel minister 30 times on setting up of steel factory but there is no response. “We have decided to build the factory on our own and SCCL will take up the project. The iron ore available in the state will be used for the factory. Thousands of jobs will be created with it,” he said.

He said the Adani group had met him some time back. “I inquired where he was getting coal from. I was told that he had coal mines in Australia and Indonesia.

Then, I asked SCCL managing director N. Sridhar, why should we take up projects abroad. Project reports are being made for it,” he said.

He said Kothagudem would get an aerodrome.

Speaking at Mulugu, he said he would make it a district and carve out Mallampalli mandal, which are long-term dreams of the people there. Speaking at a public meeting in Bhupalapalli, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was lying regarding lack of power in Telangana.
