Thiruvananthapuram: Hill highway project to go on; stir ends

Mr Vijayan said that the work on the hill highway would not be stalled.

Thiruvananthapuram: The action council demanding a hill highway has stopped its protest at Irikkur in Kannur after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan promised the council that the government will go ahead with the project. This was stated by Mr K. C. Joseph, Congress MLA of Irikkur, who along with the council members held a meeting with the CM at his chamber here on Wednesday morning.

Mr Vijayan said that the work on the hill highway would not be stalled and that instructions would be given to the officials concerned on the issue. Congress MLA Sunny Joseph, Mon. Mathew M. Chalil, Thomas Vekathanam, C. K. Mohammed and Devasiya Mechery represented the action council. Mr Vijayan also told them that the LDF government was committed to building the hill highway. He will hold talks with the finance department officials on ways to continue with the highway, he said.
