THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A. Khyrunnisa’s Butterfingers series is back with another book, The misadventures of butterfingers which was released by Shashi Tharoor MP here. Illustrator Abhijit Kini received the first copy of the book. Popular prize winning author of children’s fiction, this is Khyrunnisa’s fourth book in the butterfingers series. Her earlier books include Howzzat Butterfingers! (2010), Goal, Butterfingers! (2012) and Clean Bowled, Butterfingers! (2015).
Mr Tharoor praised her works saying that he wanted to skim through the latest book, but couldn’t as it was truly enjoyable. “When it comes to short stories, it is difficult to come out with subplots. But here, Khyrunnisa is not only able to think about nine to 10 subplots with clever ingenuity that her stories are truly enjoyable,” said Tharoor.
Mr Kini recalled his association with Khyrunnisa since 2006 when she created the popular comic character Butterfingers for the children’s magazine, Tinkle where he did the illustration. He said while reading her books, it took him down the memory lane recollecting his school and athletic days.
Khyrunnisa said though the books was expected to be released a while ago, she had to wait for Mr Tharoor’s convenience as all her previous books were released by him. She informed her readers that the next book in the series will be released in January 2017. Penguin Books is the publisher of the Butterfingers series.
