Governor pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi

HYDERABAD: Marking the 75th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan visited Bapu Ghat at Langar Houz and paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation.

The Governor along with other dignitaries also observed two minutes of silence, a Raj Bhavan’s press communique informed.

Talasani Srinivas and Mohammed Mahmood Ali were among the ministers who paid a visit to Bapu Ghat.

Meanwhile, at Gandhi Bhavan, the party leaders paid rich floral tributes.

Former MP, M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, former ministers Sambhani Chandrashekhar,G. Chinna Reddy, Khairatabad DCC president, C. Rohit Reddy and other leaders were among those present. The leaders also hoisted the national flag to mark the successful completion of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Later former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao along with senior vice president G. Niranjan offered floral tributes at Bapu Ghat.

They also hailed the successful completion of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. “Rahul Gandhi has undertaken this Yatra inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s freedom struggle,” said Niranjan.
