Farmer, kin attempt to save his pet dog electrocuted

On Friday, he forgot to switch the current off. Their pet dog was struck by electric shock.

Hyderabad: A 65 year old farmer's attempt to save his pet dog from being electrocuted cost him his life. His wife and son also died in the incident in Mahabubnagar.

According to police, T Venkataiah, a resident of Thogapur mandal in Kosgi mandal, Mahabubnagar district, would pass electric current through his farm fence at night to keep wild boars off. On Friday, he forgot to switch the current off. Their pet dog was struck by electric shock.

Venkataiah tried to rescue it but himself was electrocuted. His son Kistaiah and wife Amruthamma also suffered fatal shock in the rescue bid.
