Governor presents Red Cross awards to district collectors

IRCS had completed more than one hundred years of providing humanitarian services

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Governor and president of Indian Red Cross Society (AP branch) Biswabhusan Harichandan called upon the district collectors to bring coordination among all the voluntary organisations in the districts to work with the Red Cross to come up with various initiatives and extend humanitarian services to the needy in the state.

The Governor presented the Red Cross awards to several district collectors and others at a programme held at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Monday. He said that the IRCS had completed more than one hundred years of providing humanitarian services by supplementing the efforts of the government authorities to mitigate the hardships caused to the people in times of disasters and natural calamities and added that the IRCS AP branch had also taken up several initiatives in the last three years by providing a humanitarian services, massive tree plantation campaign, blood donation campaign among other initiatives.

The Red Cross Appreciation awards were presented to D. Muralidhar Reddy, former Collector, East Godavari; Krithika Shukla, collector, Kakinada; K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu, Collector, Nellore; Gopala Krishna, project officer, ITDA, Paderu among others who supported the Red Cross by getting higher number of membership and donations in the last three years.
