Thiruvananthapuram: CPI national executive committee member Binoy Viswam has sought the intervention of Election Commissioner to check the flow of black money into the state. In a letter to the EC, Mr Binoy Viswam said the black money flowing into the state had reached alarming proportions.
He said hawala routes had been activated to influence the forthcoming polls. “People believe that this is an unprecedented interference of black money in the elections with the connivance of certain political outfits. Not to say that such an alliance between political forces and underworld hawala dons will kill the vitals of our democratic polity. I am confident that you will understand the gravity of the situation and intervene,” Mr. Viswam said.
