Petition of Thrissur Medical College students forwarded to medical director

Thrissur: The Thrissur Medical College Hospital principal forwarded a mass petition by students to the Director of Medical Education demanding transfer of general surgeon Habeeb Muhammed after he was suspended for molesting a student.

Principal M.K. Ajayakumar told this newspaper that with the recommendation of College Committee of Management (CCM), the petition of students was sent to DME and a final decision on the matter will be taken by the state government. With the principal taking a lenient stand over their demand, the house surgeons who had started an indefinite strike on Friday, called it off on Saturday.
