KANNUR: CPM District Secretary P. Jayarajan has filed a complaint to District Police Chief after he received a death threat in a letter on Saturday. According to the complaint, a letter from ‘Hail Islamic State Jihad group’ posted from Kannur in ordinary post on August 20 was received at the CPM district office which threatened to kill Jayarajan and his son within three months.
“The letter also stated that Jayarajan escaped the alleged RSS attempt to murder him because of the incapability of the RSS workers,” the complaint said. The letter also reminded on the terrorist attacks that happened in France and warned Jayarajan with a similar fate. “The letter is to create tension among communities and also intended to destroy the CPM,” Jayarajan added. Kannur police has started an investigation.
