Nirmala Sitaraman adopts 2 villages

The minister adopted Pedamynivanilanka and Turputallu in West Godavari district and promised to develop them as model ones.

Rajahmundry: Union minister for commerce and industries Nirmala Sitaraman said power from solar energy will be supplied to Pedamynivanilanka and Turputallu in West Godavari district at 60 paise per unit. These two would become model villages by utilising solar energy.

Ms Sitaraman who had adopted these two visited them and inspected development works. She said the solar power would fetch the two panchayats income of Rs 8 lakh.

Thirty salt farmers of these areas have been given training in Gujarat state for making hygienic and standard quality of salt and remaining farmers would also be trained in that state in a phased manner.

She said that salt industry would be developed by encouraging the salt production. The minister said that three new roads would be developed; a residential school and a government hospital would be set up in the villages. The houses would be constructed for homeless people and all eligible persons would be sanctioned pensions.

She instructed the Ro-ads and Building engineers to complete the bridge at Nalli creek by the end of March. She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was taking up several programmes for the upliftment of youth and women for their empowerment by setting up of skill development training centres. She said that five crore gas connections have been sanctioned for women in the country.

The minister inaugurated Madireddy VenkatraoSathayavathi Chamber of Commerce building at Narasapuram. She also laid the stone for construction of 10 internal roads. She distributed pensions and gas connections to the two village people. Narasa-puram MP Gokaraju Ganga Raju and RS member Thota Seetharama Lakshmi were present.
