CMRS green light for Kochi Metro reach II

The team started second day's inspection at MG Road station and proceeded to Maharaja's.

KOCHI: The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has expressed satisfaction over the preparedness of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd to open the second reach of Kochi metro from Palarivattom to Maharaja’s. The final report based on the two-day inspection conducted along the stretch is expected in the coming days. The final inspection of the stretch by CMRS team led by K.M Manoharan has concluded by 8 pm on Tuesday. The team started second day’s inspection at MG Road station and proceeded to Maharaja’s. They checked all technical and safety aspects and commuter facilities at stations.

After completing the inspection of station and viaduct, two trains were operated in the new section. CMRS boarded the train and dynamic passenger comfort and ride parameters were checked. He tested the safety features of the train in the single train and multiple train modes. The dynamic trials were followed by a visit to Operation Control Centre to check its functionality.
