Thiruvananthapuram: St Mary’s central School, Poojappura: The new school council for the 30th academic year 2016-17 was formally inducted through a grand investiture ceremony in St. Mary’s Central School, Trivandrum on June 22.
School Principal Ms. Anila Sarosh and the Academic Supervisor Capt. Pramod Kumar presided over the ceremony. The school Head Boy Anand S and Head Girl Kavya Prasad of Std XII and Assistant Head Boy Aromal.
A and Assistant Head Girl Binuja Jayaseelan of Std XI were sworn in by the Principal. This was followed by the induction of the house captains of Glamorgan, Somerset, Kent and Yorkshire houses into the school council, who marched in to the rhythm of the beats of the school band.
Jawahar school: Jawahar School has introduced a free mid-day meal for patients as a part of the St. Chavara Social Extension Programme as a part of charity programmes. The first of this was provided at the Government Hospital, Varkala and will be continued every Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by V. Joy, MLA. Rev. Fr. Mathews Chackalackal CMI, Principal, Advocate Safeerkutty, PTA President and Advocate Niyas A Salam were also present.
Investiture ceremony: Jawahar Public School celebrated the investiture ceremony on June 24. The function was inaugurated by R. Chandrasekhara Pillai, Dysp Attingal in the presence of Principal Fr. Mathews Chackalackal CMI. The newly elected school Head Boy, Head girl and assistants were adorned with badges by the school principal, after which the leaders took the oath. The Chief Guest, while addressing the students, mentioned the problems faced by society today and he stressed the need for alertness. As a token of love and gratitude, the school presented him a memento.
Holy Innocent school: The Investiture ceremony and inauguration of the sports club of the Holy Innocent School, Unnicode, Varkala was held on June 22. S Rijin, sub-inspector inaugurated the meeting. Sree Narayana Central School: Sree Narayana Central School, Nedungolam, Kollam celebrated international yoga day on June 21.
Dr V. Radhakrishnan Nair inaugurated the function. More than 700 students performed various yogasanas like Thadasanam and Vrikshasanam. Sree Vivekananda Memorial Public School: Sree Vivekananda Memorial Public School, Aralummoodu, Neyyatinakara organized a seminar as part of reading day on June 24. M A Sidhique, a teacher of Kerala University Malayalam department inaugurated the seminar. Academic director P Mohanan and Principal Jayashankar Prasad were present. MLAs K Ansalan, C K Hareendran and M Vincent took part in the Janakkeya Praja Sabha organized at the school.
