Muslim league wants BDJS in UDF fold

This is the first time a top leader has come out in the open welcoming BDJS to the UDF.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IUML MP P. K. Kunhalikutty has opened the gates of the UDF before the Bharat Dharma Jana Sena. He told a news channel in Malappuram on Monday evening that the next UDF meeting will discuss on bringing in BDJS which has been wanting to sever its ties with the BJP and therby from the NDA Kerala chapter.

This is the first time a top leader has come out in the open welcoming BDJS to the UDF. It should be recalled that KPCC president Hassan had been repeatedly saying that if BDJS cuts off its ties with the BJP, UDF will wholeheartedly welcome the BDJS to their front. With Kunhalikutty's public statement in favour of BDJS, now the ball is in the court of the Congress leadership to poach the BDJS.

"When the Vengara by-election is happening within two weeks time, BDJS has been on a war path with the BJP. UDF will discuss on bringing the BDJS to our front in the next UDF meeting", said Kunhalikutty who is also the Malappuram MP. He also informed that it is the Congress leadership who should take an initiative in inviting the BDJS implying that IUML is in favour of bringing them in. But it is to be seen how SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan will react to the words of Kunhalikutty as the former has been openly expressing his desire to cosy up towards the Left camp.
