Mysuru: Three die in accident, police say no delay in treatment

A video of the accident went viral on social media and there were allegations of delay in treatment.

Mysuru: Three people, who were going on a bike, died when their vehicle collided with a KSRTC bus near Kolagala on Manandvadi road in HD Kote police limits on Tuesday. The deceased are: Mahesh (35), Ramesh (45) and Manjunath (40), all residents of Jognalli in Periyapatna taluk.

The incident happened when they were on their way to attend a function in a village in Nanjangud taluk. While one of them was shifted to HD Kote taluk Hospital, he was further referred to KR Hospital and died on the way. The other two who were shifted to KR Hospital died later, HD Kote police said.

A video of the accident went viral on social media and there were allegations of delay in treatment. But the police said all three were grievously injured and there was no chance of their survival. “We shifted all the three victims within 20 minutes since we got information in an ambulance, after administering first aid.

There was no undue delay and KR hospital is 35 km from the accident spot. It is suspected that all the three had consumed alcohol. All this can only be ascertained once we get the autopsy report,” the police said.
