Bengaluru: Union Minister for Programme Implementation and Statistics, D.V. Sadananda Gowda’s commemorative book, ‘Sada Smita’ will be released on January 28 in Bengaluru.

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, DVS felicitation committee working president and former vice chancellor of Hampi University, Dr. H. Boralingaiah said that former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda will release the book. Former Chief Minister and BJP state president B.S.Yeddyurappa will preside over the function. Former Union minister S.M. Krishna and noted literary personalities will attend the programme.

“It was the wish of Adichunchanagiri pontiff Nirmalananda Swamiji to bring out a commemorative work on Mr Sadananda Gowda. Following his direction, we met several times to prepare the book. Along with his personal and political life, we have decided to introduce readers to the present political scenario in the state”, Mr Boralingaiah said.

The 720 page book has contributions from writers, political thinkers and well wishers of DVS. Officers have also contributed to this book recalling his work as chief minister and Union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi cabinet.

The research oriented book has a few political thinkers sharing their opinion about current affairs including farmers’ problem, agriculture and social issues. Besides delving into the cultural aspects of Dakshina Kannada district, well wishers of DVS have shared their memories on his early life in the coastal district, Mr Boralingaiah explained.

Though Mr Gowda has restricted himself to one political party, the book has nothing do with one political party or one caste, said the felicitation committee chairman.
