Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee leaders hold talks with Rahul Gandhi

AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik will go abroad on Friday and return early next week.

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is yet to take a final decision on the new DCC presidents in the sate though the KPCC leadership held talks with him in New Delhi on Thursday. He has selected a one-member list from the three-to-four member panel prepared by the AICC on Wednesday, it is learnt. He will meet the Congress MPs before finalising it. He separately met KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala and former chief minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday evening.

Mr Chennithala and Mr Chandy stood by their loyalists. The final list will be announced this month itself, a source said. Mr Rahul Gandhi does not want to commit errors in one of the crucial processes he has undertaken after the party’s failure in the Assembly elections, it is said. “This time Rahul Gandhi does not want to create any controversies on the DCC presidents,” said a KPCC general secretary. AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik will go abroad on Friday and return early next week. Till then the list may not be ready. Mr K. Muraleedharan MLA will meet Mr Rahul on Friday.
