Fewer people coming forward for Coronavirus tests

Hyderabad: With fewer people coming forward for testing, the state recorded 1,273 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths due to the disease on Friday. The toll now stands at 1,303 and the tally at 2,30,274. On Friday, 35,280 were samples tested in the state.

According to the state health bulletin issued on Saturday, the state has 19,937 active cases. Of these, 16,809 are in home and institutional isolation and only 3,000 receiving treatment at hospitals.

The highest number of cases continue to be reported from the GHMC limits at 227, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri at 104 and Ranga Reddy at 102 cases. There has been a decline in cases in rural areas.

Though the case numbers are falling, the government has urged people to be cautious and follow precautionary measures. The government has asked people not to give up on the habit of wearing masks. Physical distancing and frequent hand sanitising were also stressed upon.
