A NEET' top-25 slots for three Keralites

Around 90,000 students from the state wrote NEET.

Thiruvananthapuram: Three students from the state are among the 25 toppers of the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET), the results of which were announced by the CBSE on Friday. Deric Joseph of Kannur secured sixth rank with 691 marks and 99.999358 percent score. Nada Fatima was ranked 18 and Mariya Biji Varghese 21. Around 90,000 students from the state wrote NEET.
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will make admissions in the state for MBBS course from a state-level rank list prepared on the basis of the NEET rank list.

CEE M.T. Reju told DC that the results were announced three days ahead of schedule. The earlier plan was to announce the NEET rank list on July 4. The state rank list may be published one or two days in advance. The students have to be given at least five days for submitting their NEET mark list for preparing the state rank list, Mr Reju said. As per the tentative schedule of MBBS and BDS admissions, the first allotment will be published on July 10, the second on August 18 and the admission process will be completed on August 30. This is based on the directive of the Supreme Court on the time frame to conduct the entrance examinations.
