Report sought on Shanker Reddy posting as vigilance boss

Though the court had earlier directed the vigilance to file the report on Tuesday, the Vigilance sought more time to file the report.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Enquiry Commissioner and Special Court (Vigilance) here has directed the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to file report on the alleged irregularities in the appointment of Shanker Reddy as Vigilance director by the previous UDF government, by December 7. Though the court had earlier directed the vigilance to file the report on Tuesday, the Vigilance sought more time to file the report.

The petitioner in the case, Paichira Navaz, on Monday issued a press release stating that Vigilance director Jacob Thomas will submit the report before the court on Tuesday. This had raised many eyebrows as already there were allegations of unholy nexus between Navaz and some officials in the VACB.
