British family cleans Fort Kochi beach

It eventually led to a change in their plan and they extended their four-day stay to over two weeks.

Kochi: A four-member family from England’s Kent is the centre of attraction for visitors to Fort Kochi beach for the past two weeks. Over these days, John Anderson, 41, his wife Christina and children Ethan and Freya did what even the local residents are reluctant to do – clean the beach every morning. The family flew down to Kochi after visiting Mumbai, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Shimla but they found God’s Own Country the most beautiful.

It eventually led to a change in their plan and they extended their four-day stay to over two weeks. Initially, the local residents and lifeguards did not take the cleaning act seriously but later they realised the British family was nature lovers and were surprised when they were seen exhorting visitors to keep the place neat and tidy. “You’ve got a lovely beach. You have all the facilities here – a toilet complex, lifeguards and the like. If you keep them clean, more people will visit them,” Mr Anderson said.
