Hyderabad: The Chanchalguda Prison department inaugurated a food court near their petrol pump on Sunday, around the jail premises.
The food court will have some of the lip-smacking dishes like idli, vada, dosa in the morning.
In the afternoon it would offer rice, dal, curry and biryani. Towards the evening, snacks like ‘bajji’ (pakoras) and night meals would be available.
A. Venkatesham, Jailor Chanchalguda said, “We have employed five prisoners (life term convicts) from the Chanchalguda prison in the food court and would be paying Rs 70 per day for their services.
The food court would run all the seven days a week.” The food court was inaugurated by V.K. Singh, Director General of Telangana prisons and the programme was also attended by Deputy Inspector General of Hyderabad range prisons B. Saidaiah and Inspector General of Prisons Narasimha.
