GHMC launched survey to identify businesses

The civic body would also convert the category of the part of the property from residential' to commercial' in property tax records.

Hyderabad: Targeting Rs 150 crore revenue, the GHMC has launched a survey named ‘Operation 360 Degree’ to identify commercial establishments in residential plots, flats and apartments. Revenue and trade licence wings from all circles have taken up this survey based on records collected from the Electricity and Commercial Tax departments.

'Officials will identify commercial establishments by visiting these places and using commercial electricity meter records and commercial tax registers. The GHMC believes there are about 1.5 lakh such commercial establishments in city.

The civic body would also convert the category of the part of the property from ‘residential’ to ‘commercial’ in property tax records.

GHMC commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy said that the main objective of the survey was to insist on owners of commercial establishments to take trade licence. “We’ll have a final picture about the survey by the end of this month,” he said
