Nannapaneni's car injures bike rider in Guntur

The motorist was shifted to Government General Hospital at Guntur for treatment.

Guntur: A person was severely injured as he was hit by the car of the AP State Women Commission chairperson N. Rajakumari at Takkellapadu on the Nandivelugu Road of Guntur district on Friday.

The motorist was shifted to Government General Hospital at Guntur for treatment. Further Ms Rajakumari went into shock with the accident and she was admitted to a corporate hospital for treatment.

According to the Peda Kakani police, a native of Balaji Nagar of Guntur city, G. Garataiah, working in a private company was returning home on his motorcycle. Ms Rajakumari, in her car AP13Q9, was proceeding towards Tenali.

When the car reached Venkateswara temple in Takkellapadu on the national highway and railway track, car driver Yesu Raju dashed motorist Garataiah from the opposite direction. Garataiah received serious injuries on his face, hip joint and ankles. Ms Rajakumari, seated in the back seat, went into a shock with the accident. The nearby locals rushed to the spot and safely took away Garataiah who was stuck between the car and the bike.

The Peda Kakani police rushed to the spot and shifted seriously injured Garataiah to GGH, Guntur for treatment. Ms Rajakumari was also shifted to Ramesh Hospitals at Guntur for treatment.

GGH superintendent Dr D.S. Raju Naidu said that Garataiah’s condition was critical. The Peda Kakani police took car driver Yesu Raju into custody and started investigation by registering a case.
