Stray dog injures six in attack in Karimnagar

The injured were shifted to district headquarters hospital.

Karimnagar: Three children aged below 12 and three adults sustained injuries when a stray dog attacked them at Cheralbuthukuru village in Karimnagar mandal on Sunday.

The injured were shifted to district headquarters hospital. Their medical condition is stated to be safe. However, one of the injured is said to be critical. The dog was killed by villagers.

The injured were Arun Sai (4), Aditya (12), Narender (12), Srilatha (26), Suhasani (27), Amruthamma (47). All of them were natives of the village.

The children were playing in front of their residences, while women were asleep when the dog went berserk and bit them. They were admitted to different hospitals of Karimnagar district centre. They are undergoing treatment at the hospitals. Medical condition of Amruthamma is learned to be serious.

Following the incident, enraged residents of the village eliminated the dog by beating it with sticks. They demanded authorities concerned to take steps to curb the menace at the earliest. They regretted children and women were confining to indoors, fearing attacks of dogs.
