Thiruvananthapuram: High waves hit coastal areas; visitors told to stay off beaches

Thiruvananthapuram: Hundreds of houses located on the stretch between Anchuthengu and Thumba were battered by high waves on Saturday.
Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy winds and high waves close to Kerala shores on Sunday too.

Till later in the evening, the water had not receded from houses at Adimalathura.
At Veli, a tourist village, the sea swelled past the beach spreading panic among visitors.

For the past few days, high waves have been causing trouble for people from Valiyathura to Poonthura, which are affected by sea erosion. The disaster management authorities have requested people to stay away from beaches on Sunday too.
