Hyderabad: Woman jumps to death

The victim left a suicide note alleging harassment by her husband.

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman jumped to death from the Palace Heights Restaurant at Abids on Saturday. Alankrita Agarwal, the wife of a trader named Govinda Agarwal, jumped from the tenth floor and died on the spot. The victim left a suicide note alleging harassment by her husband.

Abids police booked a case against her husband Govinda Agarwal for abetment of suicide and dowry death.

Relatives of Alankrita said that she came to the Palace Heights building in her car with the driver. She had left home saying that she was going to the restaurant. While the driver waited outside she went inside the building and jumped from the 10th floor.

“She suffered serious injuries and died before medical help,” said a cop from Abids police station. Police said her driver was not aware of her decision.

In a complaint lodged by her parents, they alleged that her husband had been torturing her mentally and physically.

Alankrita and Govinda had got married 10 years ago, and have an 8-year-old son.
