TN government assures full help to German investments

Ney also congratulated Jayalalithaa on her resounding victory in the May 16 Assembly polls and continuing in office for a consecutive term.

Chennai: German delegation led by its Ambassador Dr Martin Ney called on Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Tuesday and assured assistance to Coimbatore smart city project.

The delegation has assured full cooperation to German investments in the state and has sought its support for various development projects here, a release from the state secretariat said.

The ambassador also highlighted the existing areas of co-operation between TN and Germany in New and Renewable Energy including establishing the Green Energy Corridor, Intra-State transmission system and other urban infrastructure including storm water drainage and sewerage systems, urban mobility and transportation, the release said.

Ney also congratulated Jayalalithaa on her resounding victory in the May 16 Assembly polls and continuing in office for a consecutive term. He appreciated the state government’s swift action post December floods and was impressed to see how quickly the recovery had been effected I the outskirts of Chennai.

Jayalalithaa assured the delegation that the state would continue to extend its full co-operation for German investment in the state and sought the support of Germany for various development projects in the state, the release added.
